ONION SAMOSA

Samosasss are every ones favourite. When its raining ....upss...thinking of samosas itself fills water in mouth.Today thought to make samosas..but it requires more time to make masalas for filling.This is an easy way to make, giving u the wonderful taste of samosas..Having it with a cup of tea or coffee is a wonderful....



Ingredients:

 FOR FILLINGS


ONION
2 MED ( FINELY CHOPPED)
AVAL
2 TBLSP
CORIANDER  LEAVES
A HANDFUL CHOPPED
CHAT MASALA
¼ TSP
GREEN CHILLIES
2-3 NOS
SALT
TO TASTE


 FOR SAMOSA COVERINGS


MAIDA
½ CUP
ATTA / WHEAT FLOUR
½ CUP
SALT
AS REQ
OIL
1 TSP
WATER
AS NEEDED

Method:

For Fillings:
  • In a bowl add the finely chopped onion, aval, chopped coriander, chopped green chillies, chat masala,salt and mix well.

  • Keep this aside.
For samosa covering:
  • Mix the atta, maida, salt with required amount of water and make a smooth dough of it.

  • Apply a tsp of oil and again knead the dough so that it becomes more softer. 
  • By this time take a tsp of maida and add very little water to make a paste . ( for using as gum ) 

  • Keep this aside
  • Make the dough into 3 or 4 parts and spread it like we make for chappathies
 



  • In a non stick tawa, put the chappathies for just 5 seconds and flip it to the other side
  • Repeat this for each chappthies





  • Take care that it should not be more than 5 seconds ( tht means should be flipped suddenly )
  • Now cut the chappathies in length wise

  • Take each piece and make a cone of it





  •  Join the edges with the maida paste
  • Fill the samosa covering with onion mixture and close the top part of the cone

  • Once the oil for frying is heated up, add the samosas one by one

  • Keep the samosas for few seconds only
  • Remove it from the oil 

  • Once all the samosas are done, again add the samsosas to oil one by one
  • This will give more crispy samosas
  • Have it with tea or coffee
NB:
  • Aval is added to it so that will absorbs the moisture in the onion
  • We can do this samosas with out aval also
  • For kids replace chillies with red chilli pwd..
