AMBALAPUZHA PAAL PAYASAM / RICE KHEER

                                                A typical kerala style kheer with out any ghee or any dry fruits...simple to make and delicious to taste!!!..This kheer / payasam belongs to a temple of kerala ..the orginal making is a one term process..but here i tried some easy method..i got this from another recipe blog only...but now this will be my all time method of making paal payasam....frnd should try this delicious payasam....As today (7th may ) is my 13th anniversary...thought to make this for my hus ....i might have to keep some kheer from this bowl..otherwise he wont get it.[ as my son is roaming around the bowl!!!  ..:) ]..so here the recipe is....:)

 INGREDIENTS: 

1. Broken matta rice     :  1/2 cup
2.  Milk                           :   1 1/2 kg
3.  Sugar                          :    1 cup  

                                               METHOD 

1. In a pressure cooker add broken matta rice, 1/2 cup pwd sugar...
2..Also add 1/2 kg of milk  to it and mix well ...




3. Close the cooker lid and after a whistle in high flame...put the flame to sim mode and again give whistle upto 4 or 5
4  Cooked rice will be in this form..means it must be cooked well
  

 
 
5. In a thick bottom vessel/ nonstick kadai...add the remaining milk and stir well
 6. Once the milk gets boiled up, add the remaining pwded sugar and stir continuously in med flame.....the stirring must be continous
 


7. The colour of the milk changes to pale yellow and the milk quantity too gets reduced..now add the cooked rice to it
 8. Stir until it starts to boil and the rice gets mixed up well ..then switch off the stove...



      

Ambalapuzha paal payasam ready!!

    3. Taste mainly depends upon the milk consistency...more time its in flame ..it taste better..:)..glad to hear u tried this
