TARO LEAVES/ CHEMBIN ILA THORAN

Taro leaves or chembin ila comprise of antioxidants,fiber ,vitamins and nurtients...whenever i m in kerala ..we always ask amma to make a dish with chembu...mostly the stem called as thaalu...this i had first from my aunty and she is a great cook...Here in Delhi i gets this rarely ..any way ..i love this dish..hope u ppl will also enjoy it...cooking time will be just 10 minutes but the preperation times takes a long...as we have to roll and tie each leaves, it takes more time...


Ingredients:



1. Taro leaves/ chembin ila
1 bunch
2.Mustard seeds  
1 tsp  
3.Rice   
1 tblsp   
4. Red chillies      
4 or 5 Nos  
5.Curry leaves
3 stems
6. Salt   
To taste


Method:


1. Roll the leaf  and tie it with a thread or with the string of the skin of chembu itself
2. Make all leaves like that....



3. In a kadai, heat oil , add mustard seeds ,when it pops up, add rice,red chillies and curry leaves to it
 4. Now add the leaves to it and saute well...








5. Close the kadai with lid, saute in between and also add salt to it, keep the lid closed for 5 - 10 minutes...
