This is a typical punjabi dish..it is made from kabuli chana/ chickpea/ white chana..its mostly served with bhatura..and its called as chole bhature..In north some people doesnt use onion and garlic in their dish..i always make chole with all these..and believe me it came out awesome evem with out onion and garlic...my husband is not so fan of chickpeas,but my son loved it and we had it with phulkas,,,bhatura recipe will be uploaded next time...enjoy this,,,easy to make tooo...
Ingredients:
Chick pea /
chana

Asafetida

a pinch

Garam masala

1/2 tsp

Redchilli

1/2 tsp

Coriander
leaves

1 tblsp finely chopped

Method:
1.Soak the kabuli chana over night or for 6 hrs, now add this chana to a pressure cooker, add water comes above the chana, give whistle upto 4 or 5..
2. Grind tomatoes, ginger and green chillies together to a paste.
3.In a kadai, heat oil, add cumin seeds, when it stops popping , add asafetida
4. Dont waste time, add the tomatoe pure and saute until the gravy reduces and oil comes out
5.Add garam masala, coriander pwd, redchilli pwd, turmeric pwd and saute
6.Saute for a while and add the cooked chana together with the water which is used for cooking.
7. Allow it to boil..and let it cook until the gravy becomes thick...add chopped coriander.( but i did nt have coriander leaves in my fridge.)...
