I am as sweet lover and this is one of my favourite payasam/ kheer...we used to get this as parasadam from temple...during my childhood ,when i return from school, my mother used to make this by adding grated coconuts also .....as its made up of rice , jaggery and ghee...its tasty and healthy...But now i got a good competetor for sweet ( no one else my son itself )...when ever i make this payasam...he just finishes it...my hus just takes for a taste thts all...here the recipe is....
Ingredients:
1.Raw rice

1 cup

5 blocks [

4. Ghee

Method :
1. In a cooker, cook the rice by adding required amount of water ( about 1 1/2 cup) ..or if cooking in a vessel, once the rice is cooked, drain the remaining water..
2. In a kadai, add the jaggery and water and stir well,
3.Once the jaggery gets melted , strain the dirts which are present in the jaggery and add this to the cooked rice.....2. In a kadai, add the jaggery and water and stir well,
4.Cook it for 2 minutes..then add ghee...
5. Cook until the whole mixture gets cooked well and the ghee comes and float on the top....[some like to add grated coconut,if so add 1/2 cup at this stage ( this is optional..)]
6. Some likes to add cardomom ...if interested powder 2 cardomom and add at this stage....also if intereseted add cashewnut and raisins roasted in ghee after switching off the flame...
