METHOD:
PREPARATION -
- If using a dried green chana , wash and soak it in 2 cups of clean water for 1 hr
- Slice the onion in length wise
- Chop tomatoes, ginger , garlic and green chilies finely
- Cut the potatoes into cubes
- Crush coriander seeds and keep aside.
- In a pressure cooker, add oil, then cumin seeds and crushed coriander seeds and saute
- Then add the onion , saute for a while and when its soft , add the turmeric pwd, chilly pwd and salt
- When the onion becomes light brown , add the garlic, ginger and green chillies and stir well
- After few mints add the tomatoes and saute until it becomes mushy

- Then add the potatoes and saute well so that whole masalas gets stick to the potatoes
- Then add the green chana and again stir well
- Add 1 cup of water to it.If u want ur chana to be in drier side, then use less water
- Then add garam masala
- Now close the lid of the pressure cooker
- Give 2 whistles.I gave 1 in full and second in simmer
- Garnish with coriander leaves
