I have heard of making dosa with cherupayar or moong dal, Some days before itself i decided to make it..but the problem was..... i always forgets to soak it ..yday night thank god, i finally soaked it!!!..But only problem i faced was grinding it in mixer during 5o clock morning...only my mixer sound was coming from my house..:P..anyway finally the recipe didnt disappointed me...it came out good ...here the recipe is...
Ingredients:
CHERUPAYAR / MOONG DAAL

GINGER

1 SMALL PIECE

CORIANDER LEAVES
|
1 STEM
|
GREEN CHILLIES
|
4-5 NOS
|
SALT
| TO TASTE |
ONION
|
1 MED
|
SESAME OIL
|
TO DRIZZLE
|
ASAFETIDA
|
1 TSP
|
Method:
- Wash the cherupayar , then in clean water soak over night or 4- 5 hrs together with rice flour
- Next day, drain the water and keep it aside,grind the cherupayar, ginger, coriander leaves, green chillies, salt and asafetida together into smooth paste
- Add the drained water if required to make it a desired consistency, so that we can make a thin dosa
- Take a ladle full of dough and pour it over a non stick dosa pan, and do it as if making a dosa
- Spread the finely chopped onion over the dosa and give a slight press over the onion , so that it gets sticked to the dosa
- Drizzle with sesame oil and flip it to other side
- Once done, transfer it to other plate and serve with coconut chutney or onion chutney
