This is a Tamilian side dish for dosa and idli.....once u make this thr will be no tension if ur late to awake in the morning ...and also it will last for days ..no need to keep in refrigerators...but, taking this more is not good for health, as more chillies are added to it..children love this and they will insist for idlies and dosa's...I personally prefer this during rainy seasons...serve it with coconut oil by mixing ..
Ingredients:
1.Chana daal
/ kadal parippu

2. Uzhud

4. Hing pwd
/ kayam podi / asafetidia

1/4 tsp

5. Sesame
seeds / velutha ellu

6. Salt

7. Oil

Method :
1. Heat a kadai/ non- stick pan, add oil and when it gets heated up, first add the chana daal and roast until it turns golden brown in medium heat...
2. Remove the chana daal to a flat plate and let it cool down( NO NEED TO SWITCH OFF THE FLAME AND NO NEED TO ADD OIL AGAIN) , add the uzhud daal to the pan and roast until it turns to golden brown..
3. Remove the uzhud daal and let it cool down...add the sesame seeds to the pan...when its starts to crackle remove it tooo...
4. Then add the red chillies and saute it for few seconds...and remove tht too ..
5. When all the ingredients gets cool down, put it into a grinding jar , together with asafetida and salt and grind well ....
