This is a typical kerala style chicken curry...my husband love this style ..me too!!...easy to make ...most of the keralites know this style of cooking...its a good combination with rice, chapathis and phulkas...

METHOD
1. In a kadai, heat oil and add cinnamon sticks, cardomom,cloves, grated coconut, coriander seeds, red chillies, shallots, garlic pods , sliced ginger,2 stems of curry leaves and saute it until the coconut turns into brown ..as shown in the 2nd pic
2. Make a fine paste of this mixture in a mixi and keep aside...In a pressure cooker , heat oil , add sliced onion, green chillies which are splited into two and remaining curry leaves...saute well until onion turns brown...
3. Once the onion gets brown add the finely choped onion and saute until it gets meshed up well ...then add coconut pieces, diced potatoes,chicken pieces ...

To tht mixture add grounded paste ,salt and water and close the lid of
the cooker and make whistle upto 2 or 3...chk whether chicken is cooked
.... Decorate with curry leaves or coriander leaves as u
desire.............................
