TOMATO CHUTNEY

An easy to make side dish for idli and dosa varieties.I have seen tamilians making this.As dosas and idilis are also from there, let the tomato chutney be accompany them..:)..
Ingredients:

This serves upto 4


TOMATOES
2
GARLIC
3- 4 NOS
RED CHILLIES
2 NOS
MUSTARD SEEDS
¼ TSP
OIL
½ TSP + 1/2 tsp
CURRY LEAVES
1 STEM


Method:

  • In a pan, heat1/2 tsp pf oil, add the garlic and red chilies, saute until both get roasted.

  
  • Remove it and keep aside.
  • In the same oil , add the roughly chopped tomatoes and saute until it becomes mushy
  • Add salt ( i forgot to add it in the ingredients..Soryy!!)
  • This will increase the speed of cooking.






  • Allow it to cool. once done add it to a mixer together with the roasted garlic and red chillies
  • For tempering, heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and curry leaves.Once the mustard stops spluttering, add this to the chutney..





Tip:
1. While grinding, first grind the garlic and red chillies, once done, add the tomatoes.
