KATAL OR JACK FRUIT OR CHAKKA IS VEGETABLE TILL IT BECOMES RIPENED ..ONCE IT GET RIPEND BECOMES A FRUIT.. AND CALLED AS CHAKKA PAZHAM ..I LOVE ITS AROMA...MOSTLY IN KERALA MANY DISHES ARE MADE IN BOTH STAGES..AS I AM LIVING IN DELHI ,FOUND THE NORTH INDIANS MAKING DISHES .

METHOD :
Cut the katal in triangular shape, wash and dry it.
Fry this katal in oil until it turns brown. |
ONCE IT STARTS TO TURN INTO BROWN COLOUR ADD FINELY CHOPPED GINGER AND GARLIC |
WHEN THE ONION TURNS INTO BROWN ADD CHOPPED TOMATOES. |
ONCE THE TOMATOS GETS FULLY COOKED AND OIL STARTS TO COME OUT, ADD
|
ADD 1/4 CUP WATER AND SAUTE FOR WHILE |
ADD THE KATAL ( JACKFRUIT) AND MIX WELL |
KEEP THE LID CLOSED FOR A WHILE AND IN BTW SAUTE IT |
ADD CURD AND MIX WELL |
